I watched the 1998 sci-fi thriller The Sphere this week. The movie had me thinking about the quote, "perfection is a powerful statement" regarding the mysterious and perfectly designed gold sphere. It simply explains why I am attracted to symmetrical and geometric designs. Straight lines, angles, and a smooth polished finish seem basic in theory but there is little room for error. Abstract and experimental design tend to be more forgiving, which, is why I find minimal yet modern design to be just as challenging.
The overall shape of assorted stainless steel spheres is organic but the surface and materials add a modern touch.
Glossy, smooth, and transparent glass bubbles.
Contemporary, high polish table top adornments.
