The Pinnacle Collection is inspired by the pyramid and obelisk shapes that date back to the BC era, but are still used in contemporary design. The Egyptians built grand obelisk monuments which represented rays of the sun to memorialize their gods, kings, and queens. I'm drawn to the simple symbolism of this shape. Along with ancient pyramids the obelisk monuments of the Sun God Ra and Cleopatra still stand in Paris and New York. These four sided forms prove to be some of the most stable structures able to withstand time and the elements. This simple design has left significant impact in architectural history.
I draw inspiration from a lot of classic and contemporary architecture. How can I translate large scale shapes, design, and reinterpret to wearable but not overwhelming adornment? For this collection I played with different angles and lengths of the pyramid and obelisk. These shapes are still commonly used but we rarely take time to notice them. In my daily commute via subway/walk I see six different pyramid and obelisk structures (see images below). My commute enabled me to look at my surroundings and draw inspiration from contemporary architectural shapes that have been relevant since ancient history.
Uniquely shaped stones, geometric angles, and high polish finish are details I still highlight in this collection. These pieces are for the raw and refined individuals who appreciate sleek, modern design and traditional craftsmanship. As always all pieces are designed and finished by me in my downtown Los Angeles studio.

It was believed that honeybees were tears of the Sun God Ra. They fell down to earth and transformed into men to build the pyramids. I appreciate the symbolism of honeybees as hard workers and pyramids represented rays of the sun.
