It didn't go as planned

Back in April I wax carved a large component initially designed for a bracelet.  I wasn't able to find chain I liked enough to finish the piece, so it remained unfinished.  Then in June while visiting the Philippines I was fortunate to be gifted some large beautiful pearls, so I scrapped my original idea for a bracelet and decided to make a statement necklace using the casted component and Philippino pearl.

Colors of fire scale on silver after soldering.  The chemical reaction from the flux (fire scale retardant), fire, and metal is unintentionally beautiful.  This is after soldering the casted component to silver sheet for the back of the stone setting for the pearl.

After the first round of clean up.  This is my first time creating a custom bezel setting using bezel wire for such a large, uniquely shaped stone. I accidentally melted part of the bezel wall on the right so I improvised by adding two prongs.

This was the original design concept, final version on Instagram @agamemnonjewelry
